 Simplified Grants

• • • Description: This committee will find a project that will qualify for a simplified grant, do the paper work necessary to apply for at least one District Simplified Grant, and follow the project through to its completion.  A District Simplified Grant is a tool for Rotary Districts to support short-term humanitarian projects that benefit the community.  With a Simplifed Grant a maximum of $950 is available from the Rotary Foundation.  The participating Club must come up with 50% of the requested amount, making $1900.00 the maximum amount you can receive for a simplified grant.  However, the actual amount of the grant can be anything above the $1900.00, but the additional funding must come from another source.  You can apply for a second Simplified Grant as long as: The first SG has been completed, and there are still funds left from the foundation after March 31st of the closing year.
    • Results we want: We want to get at least one simplified grant every Rotary year.
    • General Standards:  For the Rotary year 2012-2013, the New Members Committee will find a project that will qualify for a Simplified Grant, apply for the grant, and carry the project through to its completion.  To qualify for a district simplified grant, the project has to go to something in the community and usually must be something physical or tangible.  (Something you can hang a plaque on.)  You can provide food for other nonprofit organizations., but  government properties and projects do not qualify.
